Irish Pub

Welcome to Irish Pub!! Here are
some information about Pub and
Irish drink and food.
Have a good
time!!
What is Irish Pub?
One Irish man says, " For Irish people the pub is like
the dinner table or the
restaurant or cake is for
French and Italians. It is a
place to meet friends and talk and tell stories and sing and listen to music.
However as Ireland has changed a lot in the last twenty years it is important to
make a distinction between traditional and modern pubs.
Traditional Irish pubs are like people's homes. There is a fire in the corner,
it is quite dark and cozy. Traditionally everybody has a local and regular pub
where they know the other customers, will usually sit in the same place and the
barman will know your name, your drink and maybe your family.
Modern Irish pubs look a lot different, they are often similar to pubs anywhere
else in the world. However many new pubs are built in the style of the
traditional pub and many old pubs have remained unchanged so you can still find
the traditional atmosphere if you want it.
I think Irish people spend so much time in pubs because we like to socialize and
to sing and dance. However, Irish people can be reserved and often will not talk
to another person about how we feel. This is why the pub is perfect. Once we get
drunk we have no problem talking about these things and friends can be made
easily. Of course this can cause problems and alcoholism is quite common among
the Irish.
Like everybody but maybe to a greater extent, we go to pubs to celebrate, to
drown our sorrows, to meet people, to be on our own, to talk and to think. It is
part of our culture and very important to Irish people."
People
who like Irish pub would be attracted to not only Irish alcohol but also cozy
atmosphere and that time goes slow. Irish pub makes a mood we can chat
with a person sitting next. This is Irish pub.

About
Beer...
Pint is size of glass. Usually they
have "a pint" or "half pint."
Generally Irish beer would mean
"Guinness" in Ireland, but Japanese
people are seemed to prefer "kilkenny"
as I used to. However after
having tasted "Guinness"
in Ireland, without dought I got to like "Guinness".
The reason is mixed taste with
bitter taste and cream. That cream is
no more beer. The difference of
climate, temperature, and place might have
caused it because I can't drink
couples of pints as Irish do.
(Irish people around me drink
5 or 6 or maybe more pints quite easily.)
About
Irish Whiskey...
I usually don't drink whiskey
because I drank too much in about 18( Illegal !!
Please don't tell my mum!) However,
Irish whiskey is very tasty. It's not like Japanese
whiskey and tastes like soft and
mild. I know some people who are crazy for
Irish whiskey. I.W. might have some
power to attracts people
About Cider...
This is my way: first drink beer
and after that drink cider. Cider means soft drink in
Japan, but this cider is hard cider
made from apple. It tastes not too sweet and sour,
like soft drinks. However, because
of it, I got drunk too much, so be careful.
About
Others...
My most favorite drink should be
"West coast Cooler"!!, but I can hardly find it
in Japan. In Ireland, most pubs
have it. It's kind of wine cooler and tastes sweet and
clear. In Ireland I tried drink as
much as I can because I can't drink so much in Japan.
I like Irish cream liquor, too. Baileys has some kinds of flavor like Butter scotch,
cafe, and more, but unfortunately
it's also difficult to find them here.
