St. Patrick & St. Patrick's Day

St .Patrick is  the saint of Ireland. He was born in Britain under Roman role in early 5C. A.D..

He was kidnapped and sold to Ireland by a group of thief, and forced to be a slave for six years.

Fortunately, he could go back to Britain, but one day Angel came and told him to go back to Ireland to preach Christianity in his dream.

He preached Christianity in middle and north Ireland.

People in Ireland had Celtic Myth, but he explained about Trinitarism of Christianity with shamrock.

That's why shamrock and it's green color are symbols of Green Eire.

He died on March 17th, so even now this day is national holiday called "St. Patrick's Day".

Later emigrants from Ireland brought "St. Patrick's Day to all over the world.

Now not only Irish but others have this traditional custom and have a party and parade.

We have "St. Patrick Parade" in big cities including Tokyo all over the world.

This year we had the parade on March 11th (Sun) in Harajuku.

I took part in this parade because my Irish friend acted St. Patrick.

People wear something green this day in overseas and have a party, however this party doesn't seem  to hold for St. Patrick but for fun.

I must have been permitted to say.....

This is the day to drink and get drunk as much as we do!!

Why don't you join and have fun next time!!
